Curl Check Results- Slight Differences Detected

Hi curlies,  I decided to do a curl check today.  First, can you believe that it's been 16 days since my last co-wash and deep condition?  I can't either.  In the spring/summer I'm sure I'll go back to co-washing my hair every 2-3 days just for the cool refreshing feeling of cool curls and the look of fresh defined coils.  I decided to go ahead and co-wash and deep condition my hair today.  I also wanted to do a curl check today because I've noticed some changes in my hair lately.  As my hair has grown it's starting to look more wavy than curly-whirly.  It may be a variety of things that's causing some changes.  I think it's a combination of blow drying/flat ironing my hair.  Even if done 1 time a year I always have a few pieces that won't curl exactly right.  Part of it may be that overtime henna may elongate curls.  Third reason is that I've read that as the hair grows it gains weight and just lays in a wavier pattern.   My hair is also different in the fact that my hair has a tighter curl pattern underneath, which leads me to reason #4.  The hair right along the front is even wavier because when pulling my hair back into a pony puff the front part is stretched and smoothed the most.  I've also been going longer between styling sessions, and the longer that my hair isn't drenched in water ( 16 days since it's cold outside) my hair starts to stretch out and look straight (I still mist my hair with water at night to refresh before braiding).  Oh well, I guess no two strands on my head are exactly alike and neither are any 2 heads of hair.  I'm still enjoying my curls.  Curl Check Results- Slight differences detected- Curls are still natural/curly/wavy- Passed Inspection.

  1. No need to be ashamed. The last time I had my hair washed was right before Thanksgiving. I just recently cowashed my hair on Saturday.

Nevertheless, your hair looks beautiful. :)

  2. I agree with Carla...your hair is beautiful. I hope it's true that as the hair grows, it's heavier and "hangs". Mine just frizzes out right into a curly afro puff (lol). Is there any product on your hair in these two pics? Love your waves & curls =)

  3. @ Carla, Thanks! Good to know that someone else is stretching out their co-washes as well.

@ Tamra, Thanks! I actually have some conditioner, coconut oil, and olive oil on my hair. I finger combed it through before putting a plastic cap on and sitting under the dryer on medium heat for a deep condition (while writing last nights post). Multi-tasking you know :).

    Thanks for your comments ladies!
