A New Year Brings New Natural Hair Goals

It's a new year and I have some new goals.  I decided that I'm going to try to stretch my weekly co-wash and styling sessions.
This is how my hair looked on New Year's Day.  This is 1 week after a henna treatment and a braidout.  I pineappled (pulled my hair up into a scrunchy atop my head) my hair at night for an entire week to maintain the curls.  My hair held up nicely, so I figured that I can try to get another week out of it.  Between me and my daughter's weekly co-wash and style sessions I have less time for other things, like rest (LOL).  So I want to see if creating new goals will help me maintain length, keep my hair healthy, and encourage new growth that I can retain.  Here are my natural hair goals for 2011:

1.  Co-wash every 2 weeks instead of weekly (at least while it's cold outside)
2.  Henna and deep condition 1 x month
3.  Do a light protein treatment 1x month
4.  Wear a protective style at least once every 2 months ( My hair and ends are always out and I would love to give twists a try).

This year I want to continue to meditate scriptures and uplifting passages,  find ways to save a dollar, improve my overall self as a wife, parent, sister, speech therapist, complete goals that I didn't complete on last year, and  take some time for myself to do some things that I enjoy like continuing to update this blog!

I hope that you enjoy setting and achieving some new goals on this year.   May all your natural hair goals and short and long term goals for your life and well-being come full circle this year!
