My Shortest Henna Treatment Ever

I'm a witness yall, Henna can be done within a short amount of time.  For the past few weeks I've been noticing some new gray strands popping up around the front right side of my hair. I've been putting off doing a henna treatment, however this Friday I couldn't wait any longer.  I was attending my friends baby shower and wanted to start the weekend without those pesky gray strands.  For those of you who are new to my blog a few gray hairs started appearing in my 20's and now they're just annoying in my 30"s.  Anyway I took some henna out of the freezer that I had previously mixed with green tea.  I actually took it out of the freezer a week ago with the intention of doing a henna treatment last week.  I co -washed my hair with hello hydration conditioner.  Next I applied the henna to damp hair (I only hennaed the gray hairs around my hairline on the right side, then I applied conditioner to the rest of my hair), wrapped it in saran wrap, and then placed a plastic bag atop my head.  In between falling asleep while reading I woke up after 45 minutes and decided that I was washing it out, so that I could go to bed at a decent hour.  I rinsed the henna with water, then co-washed with suave naturals two times.  I was really being lazy Friday because I skipped the deep condition process all together.  I figured that I was only doing the front of my hairline so what the heck, I'm leaving conditioner in anyway and hoped that it would be just as soft and conditioned as it would be if I did a separate deep condition and then left conditioner in.  I finger combed suave naturals conditioner, coconut oil,  applied 3 quarter sized amounts of kinky curly curling custard gel, added a nickel sized amount of shea butter to each section and platted my hair into 8 plaits, twisted the ends and went to sleep ( I placed a towel on top of my  satin pillowcase).  I pulled most of my hair up on Saturday and left a part hanging down.  Today I just wore my hair down and the picture above is how my hair looks 3 days post henna.  You can see the the reddish hue of the henna because my gray hair is so light.  In the past I used to do a 2-step process by adding indigo after I did the henna to make my hair almost black, however I don't even bother to do that anymore since adding amla gives henna a slightly darker color ( more auburn than orange red).  The entire process probably took me 2 hours 15 minutes between co-wash, apply henna, rinse, add leave in and products, plait hair.  It definitely would have taken me longer if I would have hennaed all of my hair, however for now I'm just hennaing the roots of new gray hairs.  Here's a close up of what henna looks like on my strands after sitting for 45 minutes.

I think it looks lighter near the roots, it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts before I'll have to redo my henna.  If you dye your hair do you henna your entire head or just certain sections?
