Kiddos are pool ready 5 minutes after check-in |
My kiddos are on Spring Break this week. My 8 year old twins and my 5 year old daughter were so excited to have some days off from school. So what did we do, we spent the first part of the week in Wisconsin, Dells that is. They all had great grades and we wanted to make sure that we rewarded them. Before leaving I made sure that I packed my backpack with many hair goodies that I needed for maintaining me and my daughter's hair. I packed Trader Joe's tea tree tingle sulfate free shampoo (not pictured), suave naturals juicy green apple conditioner (for conditioning, and as a leave-in), olive oil (to mix in when conditioning to add that extra touch of detangling if needed), coconut oil ( to layer over my leave in conditioner), kinky curly curling custard ( to get my curls popping), shea butter ( to smooth edges, as we frequently wear puffs when swimming and redoing hair daily), my denman brush ( to brush my edges), and my large tooth shower comb ( for detangling after finger combing my hair in the shower). I also included scarves for tying hair down around edges (if needed) and two of "barbaranaturallyspeaking's" satin beauty cases (pillow cases to slip over the hotel pillow cases to ensure that we're not pulling the moisture out of our tresses). I also made sure that I included some hair pins and some elastics (not pictured). My boys washed and conditioned as well. Then they added a little shea butter to their face and hair to add a nice shine. Yep we were ready for keeping our hair healthy while on Spring Break.
We all had a great time! Daily we pretty much rode every water slide, went through the lazy river, played water basketball. We also enjoyed the indoor theme parks where we played laser tag ( we went through 4 times on one day), participated in the rock climbing, rode a ferris wheel, jumped electronic jump rope, attempted to win prizes with the "claw grabbing machine", and played miniature golf. OMG! Can you say workout! We did so much playing for 3 days that we didn't even eat dinner until 10:00 each night. On day 1 my kids were so tired that they didn't wake up until 10:00 am. My hubby and I woke up at 9:00 am and I instantly got up to check on them when I didn't hear my children's voices. They were all sound asleep. My husband encouraged me to let them sleep, after all they had wore themselves out and they were just recharging (LOL)! The kids wore us out, but we had a fun Spring Break with the kids and our hair was maintained, conditioned, and on point daily.
What do you put in your backpack to maintain your hair when traveling?
