Happy Mother's Day to My Natural Mom!

Happy Mother's Day mom!  This is a picture of my mother back in the day.  She's always wore her hair naturally the way God created it.  She always had a looser curl pattern and would mainly wear her hair pulled back into a ponytail.  She is still known for washing her hair and then twisting her hair with her fingers to form a beautiful defined curly mane, which looks like a moussed wash and go.  I remembered begging her to get a perm for my 8th grade graduation and she finally agreed.  It took me to 2007 to start transitioning from relaxed to natural and now I just admire the way that she appreciates her hair in it's natural form.  No fuss needed.  I'm grateful to have a mother like her.  At 75 years of age now, I thank her for scaring me straight with her sharp tongue and straightforward words concerning many topics (LOL).  I'm grateful for her warmth and understanding when I needed it.  She put herself last on so many occasions, just to make sure that her children were well taken care of.  There were many times that we didn't see eye to eye, however as an adult I now realize that she had my best interest at heart.  She shows her love with her actions and actions speak louder than words in my book.  Last but not least I'm grateful to her for showing me that you can be a loving mother with beautiful natural hair.  Happy Mother's Day to my natural mom and to all mother's out there!
