I spotted this naturally curly haired woman at my typical hangout, a place where my children frequent. Her beautiful curly hair made her stand out in a crowd. Her curls are simply gorgeous. I asked a few questions and here's the 411.
Barbaranaturallyspeaking: Can you tell me how you get your curls so defined? What do you do?
Margaret: When I wear my hair down I usually wet it, put pink oil moisturizer in it, and then put moose in it to hold my curls.
Barbaranaturallyspeaking: Have you ever had a perm?
Margaret: I got a perm once in my life when I was 16 (27 now) and it was because I was in a pageant. I never got one again because I didn't like it. My curls went away for a lil while and I hated that, and til this day there's one spot in my head that's not as curly as the rest.
Barbaranaturallyspeaking: I'm glad that your curls let you know that they enjoyed being natural. Your curls are beautiful, well-defined, and naturally you.
Margaret: Thanks!

Ok, I feel like I'm destined to give mousse a try. I remember when my hair was relaxed I actually washed my hair and applied mousse. I let my hair airdry and it actually looked like I had loose waves, similar to the way that it looks now before my curls shrink. I haven't tried using mousse as a curl definer since going completely natural, however Margaret's hair makes me want to give it a try. Hum- I'm adding it to my to do list. In the meantime, I'm going to wash out the henna that I applied 2 hours ago. Enjoy the memorial day holiday weekend curlies!
Just speaking...
