A Convenient Summer Hair Style For Short, Mid- Length, Or Long Natural Hair

There are various styles that one can choose from when styling their natural hair in the summer.  There are twists, braids, braid outs, twist outs, twisted updo's, braided updo's.  The list goes on and on, but there's one style that's the most convenient.  Drum roll please!  In my opinion, the most convenient hairstyle for short, mid length, or long natural hair in the summer is the afro puff.  It's so convenient to do this style.  I can wet my hair in the shower and form a puff.  I can wash it after swimming and form a puff.  I can co-wash my hair and add a leave-in conditioner and form a puff.  I can wear a braidout for a few days and then form a puff.  I can wear my hair in a twist out for a few days and then form a puff.

There are only a few ingredients needed when forming a puff which include: water and conditioner, coconut oil (or oil of choice), and some shea butter or a combination of shea butter and gel, and oh I almost forgot something to secure the hair loosely.  An elastic for thick hair or a head band can be used to secure the hair loosely at that back, or heck you can secure it at the top of your head or on the side.  Puffs are simple, yet can look elegant on wet or dry hair.  I was able to secure my first puff immediately after cutting my relaxed ends in December 2008.  I was able to form a puff with 6 inches of hair using a goody elastic headband.  I love puffs and consider them a convenient summer hairstyle for short, mid-length, or long hair.

Do you wear puffs in the summer?  If not what's your most convenient and frequently worn natural hairstyle in the summer?  How long was your hair before you were able to form a puff?

Happy Summer Styling!
