What's Your Natural Hair Ambrosia? Smurfette Appears to Have One

I'm elated today.  Why?  Because I got to see the "The Smurfs" movie twice.  Yep, I saw it last week, in 3D while spending a few days in Las Vegas.  My hubby and I went back to the movies yesterday to take our  children and my nephew to see the movie.  Today I spotted the smurf's at the mall.  They were actually releasing a kids perfume and cologne, which smells pretty good.

I loved watching the "The Smurfs" as a kid.  I couldn't wait to watch the show because it came on every day.  Wow!  The movie bought back memories.  Yall probably can tell that I don't have cable because my "sister-in-law" informed me that the Smurfs still comes on t.v.  So this was a new experience for me, since watching the show as a kid.  I forgot about "Gargamel" and his evil sidekick cat "Azrael".  It was amazing to be reminded of how each smurf is named after their personality, like "Clumsy", "Narrator", "Grumpy", "Vanity", "Passive-Aggressive".  OMG!  Hilarious.  Wouldn't it be funny if everyone was named after their personality.  That might not be the best idea in real life because most people would have more than one name. LOL!  I won't spoil the specifics of the movie, but I will say that there was a lesson in that story.  When people work together for a meaningful cause, you can see a good result for the combined effort.

Ok enough about the movie and "blue characters" I have to mention a phrase that was mentioned about hair.  There was a scene in the movie where "Azrael" bit off a piece of Smurfette's hair.  Remember that Gargamel was always trying to capture a bit of the smurfs essence, which he could use to make him powerful.  When Gargamel realized that his cat vomited up a piece of Smurfette's hair he was instantly cheerful and referred to Smurfette's hair as "Follicular Ambrosia".  What a great play with words.  In greek mythology "Ambrosia" was the food or drink of the Gods that gave ageless immortality. (Wikipedia.com).  Now that explains why Gargamel always wanted a bit of blue essence from the smurfs to mix into his concoctions.  He wanted ageless immortality.  Afterall, Papa Smurf was 500+ years of age, and he looked great.

How does Smurfette's hair relate to natural hair?  It relates in the fact that most girls/ ladies like their hair to look nice.  Natural hair is curly, kinky, coily, and thick.   Straight hair like Smurfette's is straight and flowing.  To each it's own, but I bet everyone has their own natural hair ambrosia, or product that is like food for keeping your hair looking and feeling its best.  I bet Smurfette's hair ambrosia is juices and berries.  One thing's for sure my natural hair ambrosia is coconut oil, shea butter, and condish.
