How To Oil Twists

My twists have been up for 1 week now.  Twisted buns can dry out the hair if oil isn't applied.  I will know for sure how my hair has held up after I take them down in the next few weeks.  In the meantime, my scalp itches and I devised a plan to keep my hair moisturized and my scalp flake-free.  So I found this empty bottle that came with a brand of oil that I used maybe 5 years ago.  I blended my own oil blend in this applicator bottle, which consisted of olive oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, and castor oil.
Let's just say that these oils applied to my scalp felt heavenly!  I then grabbed my spray bottle and sprayed the bun after adding oils in between each part and applying oil directly to the parts surrounding my twisted bun.
I've been doing this same oil process every other day.  Again I truly hope that it's helping my hair as I'm trying to add oil and moisture.  I haven't sprayed the flat twists on the sides and front of my hair with the water mist, just because it tends to make the style look less shiny and may cause a little frizz.  I know that I probably won't keep this style longer than 3 weeks because my hair needs water to maintain a good moisture level and I know it's going to need to be drenched soon.  Anyways, this method has helped me to avoid a completely itchy scalp and I believe it's keeping my hair moist as much as the style allows.

How do you oil your twists or twisted buns?
