Happy Thanksgiving! - My Vegan-Vegetarian And Gluten -Free Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! May your day be filled with love, joy, giving, and a great time with family and friends.  It's also a good day to go out and feed people in need, as I know some who got up and did just that on today.  I'm grateful for life, my family, and a great meal.  I sat down in my kitchen and prepared my traditional southern mac and cheese, except I made it with gluten free noodles, and dairy free cheese.  Even though, I'm vegan, I slipped today and ate one item as a lacto-ovo vegetarian.  I purchased a gluten-free, soy free- meat free turkey from Whole Foods.  I didn't realize until I got ready to cook it that it also had eggs and milk in it.  I went ahead and prepared it and it had the look, texture, and taste of turkey.  It was good! I of course fixed a fried turkey for my meat eating husband and children. LOL!  My daughter is going to make a gluten free cake, since my hubby is gluten free.  She just hasn't gotten around to it yet.  Until then, I'll keep tasting my mom's homemade sweet potato pie.

Please find something to be grateful for, and if you're not with friends and family, find a way to give and brighten someone else's day.  Life is what you make of it. Blessings to you and yours!

What are you all doing for Thanksgiving?

  1. Gluten free - was it good? It doesn't matter as long as you enjoyed it. I'm eating healthier but I'm not gluten free.
Happy thanksgiving to you and yours.

    1. It was good Nylse, but each persons taste buds are different! To me, it was everything! My husband is gluten-free, so I had to make the Thanksgiving meal work for everyone. My son was complaining about the mac and cheese and asking why I didn't make a regular one. When he tasted it, he stopped complaining and asked if he could have some more. LOL! When my children eat it, I count it as a win, because they're critical of everything!
