Protective styling with ghana braids and box braids are a cute way to give the hair a break while allowing it to maintain moisture and grow! My daughter has box braids that have been up for 2 1/2 weeks. My ghana braids have been in for 1 1/2 weeks. Lately my styling regimen has included changing our styles more frequently to include more protective styles. Before getting our hair braided, I prepped it by co-washing, deep conditioning, applying a leave-in, olive oil, and cream. I used the LOC method to lock in moisture. I've been trimming our hair more frequently and doing more low manipulation styles, so I'm looking forward to seeing what our growth looks like at our next trim. We're on the road to healthier, longer, natural hair!
What kind of protective styles are you doing to give your hair a break from daily styling?
