My Natural Hair Week In Review- My Daughter's Twistout, My Flat Ironed Hair, Exercise, and a Healthy Meal

Hi curlies.  A lot has happened this week in terms of life and hair.  I've met several goals that I set for the week.  I met my goal of maintaining my daughter's twist out until the weekend.  Her twistout held it's own up until Saturday.
If I didn't dread the hour and a half it takes to retwist her hair after co-washing I would redo it today. I just don't feel like retwisting today so I'll figure out her final style for tomorrow upon waking in the morning.

My flat ironed hair is still holding up.  I placed it in this ponytail after my son challenged me to beat his high score on the Wii's "Let's Dance 2".  Let's just say that he one 1 game and I won one.  I've fell off the workout bandwagon for the past month, and I'm getting ready to jump back into the swing of things.  I want to avoid my 3 lb weight gain that I typically get in the winter for reduced movement.  My hair has  been flat ironed for 10 days.  It's starting to look really flat and extremely straight.  I also noticed a few white flakes popping up.  I believe it's from the hairspray.  I'm trying to decide if I might pincurl my hair tonight to give it body or decide if I'm going to wash it on tomorrow.  I'm positive that I will be co-washing and restyling before Christmas.  I'm missing my curls, the fullness of my hair, and the ability to wash as often as I like.  I'll keep you posted on this one.

I know that I haven't mentioned any meals lately, however I'm always cooking up something or trying to recreate something that I ate at a restaurant.  I really like the bean and rice burritos at Taco Bell.  So I decided to try to recreate it this week.  I took a can of no-fat refried beans and mixed in some mild salsa, and some leftover rice.  I warmed it in a skillet.  Next I warmed some wheat tortillas in another skillet and then added the bean mixture.  I topped it off by sprinkling some sharp cheddar cheese on top.  My family loved this meal.  In fact my children asked me "Mom why don't you cook these burritos more often?"  I knew that it was a hit when my 5 year old picky eater ate a whole burrito.

Well I think I met my goals for the week: maintain daughter's twistout until the weekend, keep my hair in this flat-ironed style for more than a week ( I've washed it in a week in the past because I missed my curls), start my workouts again ( Playing games on the Wee give me just as much of a workout as I get at the gym or at the track in the summer months), and share a meal idea.  Yep, 4 goals met, now on to the next one.  It's important for me to continuously set weekly goals, and if for some reason I don't complete one I continue to work towards it until it's completed.  My key word for the week is as follows:  Continue.  To you all, also remember to continue to move forward and work toward your goals in every aspect of your life.

Just speaking
