My pompadour needs a little work, but hey it served it's purpose. Ok let me retell this story by going back to Thursday morning. I actually called my niece to ask her how to make a good pompadour since I hadn't done one in so long. I actually parted a mid sized square bang across the front. I then divided it into two halves. I took the back half and rolled and folded it until it touched my scalp, then added a few hairpins. This served as the base for my hump. Next I took the front half and coaxed it over the back and added a few hairpins. Then I grabbed an elastic secured the back once, then doubled it over my hair to form a bun with the ends tucked in the second time around. Oh I forgot to mention that I definitely rubbed some olive oil, shea butter, and cocuey (smile- my term for coconut oil throughout my hair before styling). I also added a dime sized amount of gel across the front of the pompadour to smooth down those few frizzies and a little gel to the sides. It wasn't a perfect pompadour, but it definitely pumped up my waveless braidout.

Pumpin' Up a Waveless Braidout- A Pompadour and Bun
