Hi again. It's been a while since I've talked about my meat free meals, but I need to mention it on today. I really wanted to talk about hair as well so I'll mention both before this post ends. I whipped up a quick and easy veggie meal today. I sauteed a veggie burger in olive oil and threw in a few onions to add some added flavor. Onions taste great when sauteed in EVOO and added to a meat free dish (yum). I topped my veggie burger off with spring mix lettuce and some mustard and ketchup. I'm really digging the veggie burgers from veggie patch www.veggiepatch.com/products/. They have more flavor in my opinion than boca burgers. I went to Sam's club today and found this bread, which is called sandwich thins. It has 5 grams of fiber, 100 calories and 10 fat calories. I also found these sweet potato fries in the freezer at Sam's. I've made them from scratch in the past, however it was nice to find these precut delicacies waiting for me to purchase and bake. I also fixed some black eyed peas. I have to admit I cheated with the black eyed peas, because they came right out of the can. I should have rinsed them to lower the sodium content, but I forget to rinse today. Anyways, I made sure that I maintained portion control when fixing my plate, no matter how much I l-l-l-ove sweet potato fries (LOL). This was a filling and healthy meal. It has been almost an entire year that I haven't eaten meat. Wow! It's amazing how one can usurp self-control and accomplish a goal when a persons mind is made up about something. Yay! Ok enough about my meal, here's a look at my hair today.
This is a pic of my curls up close. If you read my previous post, I did co-wash again on Sunday night after braiding my hair up with just a leave in conditioner. I redid the style by applying suave juicy green apple conditioner and then adding some kinky curly curling custard ( my fave all natural gel). Afterwards I pulled my hair up atop my head in a ponytail (pineappling) and left it to dry overnight. Well it's still holding up. I'm on day 3 hair, wearing my hair pulled back loosely into a puff that still has soft curls, thanks to a little gel and conditioner. Yep that's my week so far. Just speaking from the perspective of a curly girl that had a veggie meal and enjoying her hair and food!
What's your favorite gel and one of your favorite low calorie or meat free foods?
