My New Workout Routine- Ready Roll

Greetings!  I have truly fell off when it comes to keeping a workout routine.  The past few months have been hectic and I've gotten a few days of bike riding in and a few days of jogging in, but nothing consistent.  The only thing that I've been consistent with is consistently not maintaining my workout regimen over the past few months.  Life has been so hectic with responsibilities that just trying to get ample sleep after dealing with work, kids, homework, dinner, having to wake up early every morning, and additional activities that I just crave a few extra minutes of rest.  Where has that lead me exactly?  To hitting snooze to garner a few extra minutes of rest sans a workout.

After much thought I figured out a solution, at least for the next few months.  I decided that I will leave my workout gear next to the bed or heck sleep in some workout shorts and like my mama say get up "ready roll" ( that just means sleep in what you need for the next day and roll out of bed and get moving.  We used to do this when going out of town on family trips.  Take a shower.  Dress in jogging gear.  Wake up at 3:00 am and prepare for a long road trip when going out of town when I was a kiddo.)  Now I sleep in some gear, or leave it next to my bed, along with my new cute pink 3 lb dumbells, and shoes.  I've been waking up and walking/ jogging on the treadmill for 10 minutes in the morning, which ends up being 15 minutes.  Afterwards I stretch and then do a couple of planks.  Planks are an ab exercise that I do by placing my wrists and forearms on the floor, while my toes are also on the floor suspending my body in a parallel position.   I hold this position for 30-60 seconds and then repeat.  I know it's not a lot, but something is better than nothing.  This also keeps me from saying that I don't have time daily to workout, and the end result would be no workouts.  So for now I aim for 10 minutes, it typically turns into 20-25 minutes when I add in those extras and wallah!  I've did something.  Here's a pic of me "ready roll" LOL!

With natural hair I find it easy to jump in the shower and co-wash my hair if I sweat in my head.  With this workout I sweat a little, however not in my head, so I can skip the co-wash of my hair.  I just keep my hair pineappled during my workout so that it's off my neck.  At night I sleep with my hair secured with an headband ( as an elastic) atop my head to keep from smashing my curls overnight.  I'm glad that this picture is blurry because it's a "ready roll" photo.  It's not a good look, but yall get the point.  It's better to inch toward your goals than to give up and stop all together.  So yep, I'm grateful for my new workout routine!  It's been successful for 2 weeks!

What's your secret to maintaining a regular workout routine in the midst of multiple daily responsibilities?  What keeps you motivated? and How do you wear your hair during workouts?
