Beads, Cornrows, and Uniform Colors
Here's my daughter's new braid style. The previous post this week showed how I blow dried and trimmed my daughter's hair. Afterwards, as depicted in the photo above, I basically applied a dime sized amount of coconut oil, shea butter, and ecostyler gel to each section and brushed the products through with a denman brush. I love the denman brush for it's ability to distribute products through the hair. I used the gel in hopes that it would give a small amount of hold. I then proceeded to part 2 sections down the middle to braid straight to the back, as seen below.
Once done with the 2 braids going to the back I just braided the sides down into basic cornrows. I used a bead threading device ( which really resembles a large needle threader used when threading a needle for sewing) to place the beads onto the ends of my daughter's hair. I chose the color of the beads based on my daughter's school uniform. I figured I could leave this style in place for 2-3 weeks and her beads would match her uniform! Today, I'm appreciative of beads, cornrows, and uniform colors, all incorporated into this style! Convenience, need I say more! One week down and 1-2 more to go. (Check out the back and side views below).
What's your inspiration for choosing the color of your daughter's beads?
very nice and neat work - may have to try this on my little one !
ReplyDeleteThanks Victory! I'm sure this style would look lovely on your daughter's hair.
