Hey naturalistas! I have to say sorry for not updating in a while. Things have been hectic the past few weeks. My dad was hospitalized and I've been checking in on him. He's back at home now. My days have consisted of work, meals, assisting kiddos with homework, helping my family as needed, and keeping up with some of my hobbies, plus some of the kids hobbies in the midst of extra emotional and physical duties. When things get hectic or busy, it is so important to maintain balance by keeping familiar activities as a part of your life. I said that to say that I've been attending dance classes and it helps me to destress and exercise at the same time. Now I just need to catch up on some cleaning as I see a notebook and an umbrella in my reflection in the mirror. Oh well, I guess that's life, full of a list of to do's. The best thing to do is to make peace with every situation, keep it moving, and remember to have some fun.
I also need a good old henna treatment to get my hair color right near my hairline. I haven't done anything different to my hair lately. I've been co-washing weekly and then either doing a braid out or a wash and go. I wear my hair out for a day or two and then part down the middle and rock my puff. It's great maintenance in the winter. I just mist with water, add some shea butter, a dab of grape seed oil, some gel if needed to my edges, and puff it is.
Reflections, prayer, and dance help me to pull through many circumstances with my curls still intact.
Do you ever reflect on what helps you to maintain balance when you have added responsibilities? How do you wear your hair when you don't have a lot of extra time to work on it? What's your no effort go to style?
Peace!
