Lessons I've Learned About Life and Hair In 40 Years

I turned 40 earlier this year!  I've learned so much over the years, including how to just live, enjoy life, and celebrate.  At my 40th birthday celebration I had a great time with friends and family.  I enjoyed dancing as I had a dance instructor there teaching line dances and steppin' for those who don't dance often.  We played a trivia game where people competed to answer the most questions about me, for the opportunity to win prizes.  We also enjoyed great food and some spoken word.  It was truly a great celebration!  I also spoke about some  of the top life lessons I've learned over the years.  Here they go:

1.  Put God first.
2.  Embrace your natural hair.
3.  Enjoy each day to the fullest.
4.  Don't over think things, use wisdom and keep it moving.
5.  If you look good you feel good (hence this is why I use MAC cosmetics).
6.  Surround yourself with the right people, because energies are contagious.
7.  Don't dampen your shine because someone else may feel threatened.
8.  Be a blessing to others.
9.  Words have power, so try to speak positive words.
10.  Replace at least 1 meal with a smoothie or a smoothie popsicle, because by 40 metabolism changes.
11.  Acne can't be cured with just drinking water.  Invest in a good scrub, a retinal night cream, a great moisturizer, and fading cream to fight spots daily.
12.  Live, Love, Laugh and Dance like no one is watching.
13.  Remember the words of Oscar De La Renta "The most important thing in life is to love, be loved, and do what you love".
14.  Embrace your wash and go, it's effortless.

I hope you enjoyed my list of life lessons.  Honestly, the day of my party I forgot where I put my purse and had to remember as many of my life lessons as I could from memory.  Stuff happens.  I'm glad that I could share my list with you, plus add a few about hair.

Hey take a moment and share a lesson about life and/ or hair that you've learned over the years.
