When I was newly natural, I was a fanatic with
measuring my hair length. After my second big chop, I no longer felt the need to measure anymore. Maybe I felt that once I knew that my natural hair would grow to great lengths, I didn't feel the need to constantly measure it. When I first did my Big Chop I had 6 inches of hair. Now after my second big chop/ 1st Devachan cut in December 2013, my inner being was satisfied to know that natural hair can grow to great lengths when taken care of. I also had a follow up Devachan cut in January 2015. Today, my hair is almost waist length, about 3 inches from my waist. I don't feel like measuring it with a tape measurer, and because I haven't flat ironed it in 2 years, I haven't seen the full straightened length. To be honest, I have no intention of flat ironing my hair any time soon. As for now, I'm just AWA- almost waist length.
Do you measure your hair or just stretch it out to see the growth?
