Road Trip To Lake Ozark, Missouri

Every year my hubby and I take our children to visit a city for a week.  Before children, my husband and I would travel out of the country annually.  We've tried to keep our costs within an affordable range over the past few years, by traveling and visiting places within the United States.  This year we chose Lake Ozark, MO.  When we save enough airfare for a long trip, we will definitely take the whole family out of the country via plane.  For now, there's so much to learn about the scenery, people, food, tourist attractions, and the animals that reside in places within the U.S.  We just got back late last night, so we're still trying to recover after the vacation.  I plan to write a few posts about the fun things that we did while visiting over the next few days.

The scenery was beautiful there!  The landscape and the lake was a sight to be seen.  The land is filled with mountainous climbs, so just driving was something that we had to get used to.  In Chicago, everything is flat.  Missouri is full of hills and trees.  In the meantime, I thank God that we had a safe trip there and back while driving in new places.  I'm always conscious of driving to new places, where laws may differ.  It's so hard hearing all of the information in the media concerning senseless deaths of African-Americans during police encounters in various places within the United States.  I also know that there are some good cops out there.  I'm continuing to say a prayer that God may give some comfort to the family of Sandra Bland who was from Naperville, IL.  I must say that we only encountered friendly people while in Lake Ozark, MO, so again for that I'm grateful.  We actually met another couple from the Chicago area that was there with their children as well.  Fishing, water sports, relaxation, and shopping draw a lot of people to Lake Ozark!
Pictured above are snacks that I purchased at Sam's Club for the trip out of town with 2 teenage boys, almost pre-teenaged  daughter, and a husband.  Individually packed snacks such as trail mix, fiber one bars, and apple sauce were great. I also had water in a thermal bag to keep everything cool for our 8 hour trip, stops included.

Living Room with kids shoes by the couch.  They were pool ready!

Safe and fun travels to all this summer!  What new place are you traveling to this summer?
