Adulthood, Wifehood, and Motherhood Keeps My To-Do List Lengthy

My crew keeps me busy!  What's a woman to do?

I love writing and blogging.  Writing is one of the relaxing and fun things that I enjoy, however sometimes it's hard finding a moment to fit it in.  This past week was full of "To Do's".  In fact, I'm still working on crossing things off of my list.  My 3 children started school last week, my husband's birthday was last week, and my daughter's dance performance was last week.  OMG!  I'm still on vacation from work, however it felt like I was back at work.  This is what my list looked like last week.  When I got a free moment, I slept.

1.  Purchase kids school uniforms (let them try them on at different stores until they find the cut and fit that they agree with and remind self that this this is half of the mortgage).

2.  Purchase all school supplies (why is it that no one sells erasable pens and when I find them they cost $4.00 for 3 in the pack- not.  I remember when you could by a pack of 10 erasable pens for $2.00).

3.  Pick up groceries and items that we're out of for the week. (Why did someone use the last of the tissue and not mention that it was gone).

4.  Pick up dog food.

5.  Order husband's birthday cake.

6.  Pick out a gift for husband.

7.  Since I'm on vacation, organize, donate, or toss out items in each room before I return to work in a few weeks.

8.  Clean and wipe down the walls in each room in the house.

9.  Work out (I missed every dance aerobic class that I'm enrolled in this week, however burned calories cleaning and ripping and running for my hubby and kids).

10.  Cook dinner each day - uh uh- well most days( and prepare self for argument from teenagers that they should order restaurant food because french fries should be a part of every meal).

11.  Remind all in the house to tidy up after themselves ( I don't get paid for this).

12.  Raise my voice to get kids to get up and get dressed for school each morning (as my soft voice calms everyone to just keep sleeping, but when I yell at the right level every one's like why are you so loud. Uh- because school starts in a few minutes).

13.  Pick out a new leotard, ballet shoes, and jazz shoes for daughter performance on this weeks (as she's literally grown out of everything that she owns over the past month).

14.  Dye gray hairs, co-wash, do a wash and go, and allow hair to air dry.

15.  Figure out  what's the next step after one of my teen aged sons just informed me that his sized 9 gym shoe no longer fits, even though it was big when we bought it a few months ago (uh- growth spurts).

I made it through last week and wouldn't change the joy and challenges of being an adult, wife, and mother for anything in the world.  I love my entire crew!

P.S. I promise I'm going to continue with updates about my Trip to Missouri soon.  I found the best deals for school supplies at Walmart.

How do you track all the things that you need to do?  Where did you find your children's school supplies for an affordable price?
