How I Lost 12lbs. In 3 Weeks And Kept It Off

Dancing with a group makes exercise fun! There are typically 25+ people in this class weekly.

I recently lost 12 lbs. and wanted to share some written tips and also do a quick video to describe how I did it.

1. Work out 2-3 days a week.  Find a class that you enjoy.  For me it's dance cardio 2 x week, which incorporates cardio, dancing with weights, and ab work within one class.  I also recently added yoga once a week.

2.  Start your day drinking 16 ozs. of water and a cup of green tea.

3.  Eat 3 main meals and stick to sensible portion sizes.  I eat a serving.

4.  Eat healthy snacks, such as fruits and vegetables.  My favorites are cucumber slices, pineapples, mini sweet peppers with a tablespoon of hummus, or a banana with a tablespoon of peanut butter.

5.  Track calories in an app.  I love the Loseit app.  It allows me to put in my goal weight and it constantly readjusts my calories to keep me at my goal.  I'm vegan and I still count calories.

6.  Tack your steps and aim to get 10,000 in per day.

7.   Eliminate or minimize your sugar intake.  I sweeten my oatmeal with cinnamon and berries instead of sugar.

8.  Reduce salt intake.

9.  Drink 64 ozs. of water daily.  I drink 16 in the morning before breakfast, 16 oz. while at work, 16 oz. on the way home from work, and 16 ozs. before bed.

10. Do what works for you.  Slow and steady wins the race.

My cholesterol is now normal and my doctor said I no longer need to start medication.  My blood pressure has also gone down!  I'm happy but always remind myself that I'm a work in progress.

Have you been able to lose weight and keep it off?  What worked for you? How did your diet impact your health? Drop a pic and share some tips.
