For you all who have been following my blog for a while, y'all know that I prefer wash-and-go's. Rebraiding at night is not my cup of tea. I met this woman a few weeks ago, who had boss curls and a beautiful honey blonde hair color. Her hair was thick and long. I asked if it was a wash and go. She said "no", I just braid 4 braids. She also told me that she rebraids at night. All I could think was, maybe, just maybe I should give wash and go's one more gain- LOL! One more try.
I decided to try out some of the cantu products that are in the "natural line". I'm sitting for 30 minutes on low heat and will let any damp spots dry overnight. I'm so grateful for my satin cap and for my satin pillowcase. I'll show you the results in the morning.
The next morning: My braid out didn't quite come out the way that I expected. In hindsight, I needed to remind myself of what not to do when doing a braid out. Read below and watch the video!
1. When doing a braid out doubly make sure that the hair is dry before take down.
2. What works for others may not work for you. I have to braid at least 8 braids to get my thick hair to dry, 4 braids won't do for me on wet hair.
3. If all fails, keep a back up hairstyle in your list of go- to styles.
4. Put those flat twist skills to use!
I ended up wearing another style.
Do you do braidouts? How many braids do you use to set your hair? What go-to style do you use when the style you attempted didn't come out as planned?
