A Banana A Day Boosts Health and Hair
A banana a day keeps the body and hair healthy. For the past few weeks, I've been blending shakes for breakfast. I combine 1 cup of soy milk, 1 banana, 2-3 strawberries, and a dash of cinnamon. I blend all ingredients for a minute or so until smooth and drink. This is such a good and refreshing shake. It's weird how last year I leaned to coffee a few mornings a week when really tired, however this drink tends to make me feel alert for some reason. In this post, I decided to focus on the properties and benefits of bananas, even though I appreciate the nutritional value of strawberries and cinnamon just as much. I did a little research on the health benefits of bananas and found out the following 411 on bananas:
1. Bananas are chuck full of dietary fiber. That means their great for maintaining regularity.
2. Bananas have vitamin B6. Bananas apparently contain an amino acid called "tryptophan". It helps the body to produce serotonin which has a calming effect on the brain and creates a stable mood.
3. Bananas are full of potassium. Potassium minimizes calcium loss and reduces the risk of osteoporosis.
4. Bananas contain 3 types of natural sugars, including fructose, sucrose, and glucose. Theses 3 natural sugars are known as instant energy boosters.
5. Bananas also have iron, which help to ward off anemia.
6. Bananas when used on the hair create shine, growth, and manageability. If you want to try a home-made banana and honey conditioner check out the link below:
