Color Stick and bobby pins are necessary |
Let me break it down like this, When I walked to my car the wind nearly blew my bun apart, which I only secured with 3 bobby pins. This might work on a less windy day but in Chicago on a windy day that was a no-no. So what did I do, I stopped by the store and purchased an extra pack of bobby pins to place in my desk. That was fix #1. When I arrived at work and went to get out of my car, my bun brushed the top of the interior of my vehicle as I was getting out with my work bag. I peeked into the windshield of my SUV and patted it back into place. Whew! That was fix # 2. I walked into my office and removed my sunglasses as I was climbing the stairs to my office. I later left the office and placed my sunglasses back onto my face. When I arrived at my destination I lifted my glasses, looked in the mirror, and noticed a black smudge on the right side of my cheek. Uh! It was some of the waxy temporary color that had gotten onto my glasses that were sitting atop my head, and had made it's way to my face when I lowered the glasses back onto my face. I quickly wiped off the smudge. The good thing is the bulk of my temporary color was still on my hair ( I love this color stick seriously, just sharing what can happen when you don't put your sunglasses in your purse- LOL).
Over the course of the day I learned 3 lessons to live by when wearing a high bun and/ or a temporary color stick: 1. Be mindful of the weather and add extra bobby pins when needed, especially on windy days. 2. Pay attention to the height of your bun and the height of the door of your car no matter what you're trying to carry in your hands. 3. Don't store your sunglasses atop of your head when you're wearing a temporary color stick. This color stick comes in various colors and is only $3.99. I purchased it at a local beauty supply, however you can also purchase colorsticks online.
So there you have it. Have you faced any challenges while wearing a high bun?
If you also live in a windy city, check out a previous post on how to wear your hair in windy conditions.
Happy Musings!
