Alternative Uses For Natural Hair Appliances

I'm so excited that I've found an alternative use for my hair dryer.  I use it occasionally like maybe twice a year in the winter time to dry my natural hair.  A day ago, I decided to paint my nails in the a.m.  First I painted my nails with the "Mineral Fusion" brand of nail polish from Whole Foods.  I couldn't help giving it a try after reading a wonderful blog post by Naptural85.  When she stated that it was a carcinogenic free polish and showcased the beautiful colors available, my inner PJ kicked in.  It's a non-toxic polish that costs $7.99.  I purchased the base coat, the color "Slate" nail polish, and the top coat.  I started by adjusting my hooded dryer to table top length.  I love this dryer because it sits on an adjustable stand.  I then painted by applying one coat at a time, first the base coat, next the color, and then the top coat.  When I finished each coat of polish I placed my nails under my hooded dryer to dry before applying the next coat.  This is day 2 of wearing "Slate" and I swam on yesterday.  After class I noticed one little area where the polish had chipped, which is on the tip of my left thumb.  I don't like chips, and I may try touching up that little area on the tip of my thumb.  Hopefully the rest of the color will hold up until the end of the week.  I do like the fact that the color is bold and after 2 coats the color looks so rich.  This color is also matte, however has this high definition shine at the same time.  It's beautiful and I found a beautiful way to dry my nails quickly.

No need to purchase a small nail dryer when my hooded dryer can serve multiple functions.  Have you found any alternative uses for your natural hair appliances?
