Lately, I've become more aware of my sparse eyebrows. Over the years, they haven't grown much. It may be due to the fact that I tweeze them frequently, and then fill them in with an eyebrow pencil. I recently saw a post on Facebook from an eyebrow technician with pictures of how she shapes eyebrows. I'm not really sure what you call them, however her shop caters specifically to shaping eyebrows and eyelashes. Three weeks ago, I stopped by the mall and asked an eyebrow threader if my brows could be shaped. She said wait about 3 weeks until they grow out. OMG! This would definitely be difficult to do. After 2 weeks of growth, my eyebrows had grown in a little, however they were still sparse. I stopped by and asked another technician a few days later, and she said come back in a week. So, I started applying coconut oil to my eyebrows for a week. My goal was to stimulate growth so that I can have thicker shapely brows. I have to admit that I only applied coconut oil to my eyebrows for about 4 out of the 7 days, due to me falling asleep and forgetting to apply it. My eyebrows grew a little, however I really have to apply coconut oil more consistently to see if I get constant growth.
The picture above is how my eyebrows looked at week 3 after applying coconut oil for a few days during the last week. I couldn't wait another week so I went and got them threaded. It was my first time, but at least they had shape, and then I filled them in a little with a brown NYX eyebrow pencil.

In the meantime, I found this article online that talked about how to grow thick eyebrows naturally. It confirmed what I believed, and that's the same natural oils and massage to stimulate growth on your hair can also be used on your eyebrows when handled with care around the eye area. It did recommend warming the coconut oil before applying. I applied it directly from the bottle and left it on overnight.

I'll keep you all updated on my quest for a thicker brow.
Have you found success with any products to get your eyebrows to grow?

I have the same issue and unfortunately I have not. I have tried rosemary oil and castor oil - all that happened was my brow area became very greasy!!!! There are worse problems to have; I chalk mine up to heredity and age. I'll keep massaging oils though.
ReplyDeleteGood to know that someone else has this issue. I agree, I really think that it's heredity, as my eyebrows haven't grown full in the past. Like you I'm going to keep massaging oils into my eyebrows at night and see what happens.
