Green Smoothies are a great and healthy breakfast option for the health conscious. These delicious smoothies are healthy, tasty, and can be made quickly. I often prepare these drinks to jump start my day. Since my metabolism has changed since I was in my 20's and un-huh my 30's, I knew that I needed to have a green smoothie at least once a day to maintain my weight. I get a tasty dose of various vitamins and a serving of vegetables disguised in a fruit bath. This is definitely a good way to get some veggies in. My children also love these smoothies! I've adjusted what I put in my smoothie on many occasions, however this is what I'm drinking now.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of original almond milk
1/2 cup of water
1 medium sized banana (preferably ripe)
1/4 cup of organic blueberries (frozen or fresh)
1 tablespoon of ground flax seed (enjoy the dose of Omega3's and Fiber)
1 cup of ice
1 cup = 1 handful of kale ( or kale, spinach, and carrot blend mix)
1 sprinkle of cinnamon
1 serving= approximately 223 calories
FYI: I purchased all ingredients at Sam's Club, except for the Flax Seed, which was found at Whole Foods.

My mornings frequently look like this, when enjoying my smoothie! If I don't finish it before leaving home, I put the top on my cup and take it with me while driving to work, etc. |
